This page will serve as a resource throughout your journey to the first day of class, with reminders and information you need to know.

SCHS has implemented a Standard Technology Initiative in which all incoming AASN students will be required to purchase a Bon Secours SCHS-issued laptop computer to complete the academic program. Bon Secours SCHS decided to implement this initiative to ensure that all students have adequate and standardized technology resources to support a hybrid learning environment, academic programming, remote testing capabilities and continuity of Information Technology (IT) support. The cost of the laptop will be added to your registration bill, and you will pick up your laptop at New Student Orientation.

Financial Aid 

Start financial aid process by submitting the 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as possible at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. A FASFA is required for using Federal Financial Aid (Federal Direct Loans and Federal Pell Grant), Scholarships, and the BSMH Guild Tuition Benefit (for Bon Secours employees).

Drop-In Session 

The Drop-In session is an on-site kick-off to your journey into the Nursing program at SCHS. At this meeting, you will sign important paperwork, try on uniforms, login to your student portal and student email account, take your photo for your student ID, and connect in small groups with our admissions staff.

  • March 25 for Summer (May) 2024 starts 
  • June 3 for Fall 1 (August) 2024 starts 
  • July 22 for Fall 2 (October) 2024 starts 
• Time: Stop by anytime between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – no appointment necessary

• What to know: Bring your driver’s license. Be prepared to fill out important paperwork, have your photo taken for your student badge and try on uniforms and white coats.  

Orientation (Tuesday before classes start)

Orientation is the last stop for your transition to campus. At this on-site event, we will prepare you for everything you need to confidently start your first week of classes. This will be your first opportunity as an incoming student to meet the people who will be crucial to your success in the program (including your future classmates, program directors, and advisors). We will cover everything from a typical week in the program and show you where your classes and other resources will be in the building.
