Southside College of Health Sciences (SCHS) uses a Windows based system, the faculty and staff are connected to the Southside College of Health Sciences network, the Southside Regional Medical Center network, and the Internet.  The system includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SONISWEB and CANVAS. All students and faculty must be able to access the internet on a daily basis. Wi-Fi is available for use in the Medical/College Library and at the College. 

Southside College of Health Sciences requires students to have access to use computer/laptop/tablet, email, and Internet for program success. Students should be proficient using email, the Internet, and common desktop productivity software. Please note that some programs may require additional technology requirements.

College policy prohibits the Southside College of Health Sciences Systems Analyst from working on a student’s personal computer directly.  However, you may contact the Systems Analyst if you have any questions or concerns regarding your personal computer equipment as it relates to College related assignments.  Southside College of Health Sciences/Southside Regional Medical Center is not responsible for phishing emails received via student email and/or any viruses that appear on the student’s computer. Please follow the proper procedures to report phishing emails to the Systems Analyst. Please note – Southside College of Health Sciences does not loan or rent out computer equipment to students.  It is the student’s responsibility to have access to a computer to complete college coursework.
