Building Safety and Emergency Procedures

For your safety and that of our entire campus community, please be sure your emergency contact information is up to date in your Student Portal and review the Safety policies available on the College’s website (https://www.schs.edu/students/policies) in the Administrative - Safety section. Be on the lookout in the next few weeks for a reminder communication about our SafeColleges application, a platform with important training modules around safety and security.

The SCHS Emergency Management and Evacuation Procedures (EMEP) is an emergency preparedness document intended to provide useful information that ensures the safety and protection of associates, students, and visitors during fire, severe weather, loss of utilities and other emergencies at the 430 Clairmont Court building. All students, faculty, and associates are encouraged to review and familiarize themselves with the EMEP as it outlines the resources, procedures, and roles each SCHS community member plays in keeping our campus safe in the event of an on-campus emergency. The College’s ability to respond to campus emergencies is enhanced by a Public Announcement (PA) system, which is audible throughout campus when activated.

The EMEP is regularly updated to adapt to evolving emergency preparedness best practices. To view the most recent draft of the EMEP, please do the following:  

FOR STUDENTS

1. STEP 1: Log into Blackboard
2. STEP 2: Navigate to any available Blackboard course
3. STEP 3: Once in the course, select College Resources  
4. STEP 4: View the EMEP in the Global Resources folder
