Continuing Education

Many students have the goal of graduate nursing education. If you are considering that, take a look at this brief Graduate School Overview. It will help you think through the early steps of applying to graduate school.

AASN

After graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN), and passing NCLEX, students may continue their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through an RN-to-BSN program. This program format allows registered nurses to build on their existing education and clinical experience while developing additional skills in leadership, research, community health, and evidence-based practice.

Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing offers an online RN-BSN program that is designed for working registered nurses and offers the flexibility to complete all coursework online through an asynchronous format. With no scheduled class meetings, students can maintain their professional and personal commitments while progressing through the program. Follow this link to learn more.

Some graduates may also choose to continue on to graduate-level nursing programs, such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), depending on their career goals and area of interest. Take a look at this Graduate School Overview to learn more.

RAD

The Radiologic Technology Program prepares the student to enter the workforce as an entry-level Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist. Graduates of the Program are eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentialing certification exam.

The AAS Radiologic Technology degree is a terminal occupational degree, the highest degree needed to secure employment in the field. The AAS Radiologic Technology degree does not guarantee full assimilation into a Bachelor of Science in Radiography, Health Sciences or a related field. Additional credits, outside of the AAS degree may be required to meet the admission criteria of the receiving institution. Please contact Career Services to discuss continuing education options.
